February can be a month where it’s hard to feel like you’re enough. Valentine’s Day can be wrought with anguish whether you’re single, shacked up, or anywhere in between. Or if you’ve fallen off the wagon when it comes to your New Years Resolutions, you might be feeling pretty rubbish too.
So this month, I want to shift your focus.
I’m dedicating this month to self-love.
And I want you to join me.
I’ll be ramping up the self-care. Practicing what I preach when it comes to self-love. And completely devoting to myself.
And boy, does it feel good to put those words in print and to set the intention.
For the rest of this month I’ll be delving into all things self-care and self-love. I’ll be sharing more on what they both mean to me, how I prioritise self-care, and why I choose to always end the day feeling loved-up from the inside out.
I now know what people mean when they say they don’t have time for self-care. While I understand the sentiment, I disagree with it. You don’t need that much time for self-care. You just need to make it a priority.
There’s no such thing as being too busy to treat yourself right.
And if feeling good isn’t a priority, perhaps you need to rethink what’s important to you.
Even though I have a lot going on I relish the pockets of time that I devote to self-care. I love the small moments where I am my number one focus.
If you need to revamp your self-care routine or are searching for quick, easy ways to nurture yourself, here’s a look at what I’ve been doing (and delighting in) lately.
+ Spending a few extra minutes under the shower while Luke is home to look after Rory
+ Exfoliating multiple times a week
+ Using face masks regularly
+ Getting in 20-30 minutes of reading before bed
+ Drinking lots of tea
+ Keeping myself organised using my 2017 planner
+ Writing and filming videos because it’s so much fun
+ Putting my phone down an hour before bed
+ Practicing deep, slow breathing while in bed
+ Focusing on a chakra a night while doing the aforementioned breathing (I fall asleep too quickly to do more than one!)
+ Making sleep a priority, because I’m definitely not getting 8 hours in a row anytime soon
+ Trying my best to only do one thing at a time to avoid overwhelm
How have you been practicing self-care lately? Let me know in the comments below.
